A TEAM of six Australian ambassadors will travel to Germany in May as part of Rotary's search for understanding and international peace.
Three of the ambassadors are from the Central Coast and will be representing Northlakes Toukley Rotary Club.
Joe Montgomery is a logistics manager and Rotary group study exchange leader who played rugby union for Ourimbah. Mr Montgomery is married with an 18-month·old son and works tirelessly for the community.
Theo Glockemann, of German Australian heritage, is an expert on Himalayan expeditions in Nepal and is hosting a group from East Timor. He is also establishing a group training scheme in leadership to replace the generations, which were massacred in East Timor.
The third local team member is Katy Gregory, of Glenning Valley, a past graduate or the Rotary Youth Leadership Award program. Ms Gregory has been a driving force behind the expansion of the Northlakes Toukley Rotary Club, delivering presentations at club and district level.
The team will speak at various functions throughout Germany from May 15 to June 12, Rotary stalwart Ralph Bryant will introduce them at the Regional Chamber of Commerce night at Wyong Race Club on the 23 February. This will be followed by a trivia night at the Zenith Building In Tuggerah on February 27 from 7pm.
Mr Bryant said group study exchange was one part of a huge contribution made by Rotary to international relations.
